ICF – ’International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health’ – is enacted by the World Health Assembly, which is part of the WHO. The objective is to accommodate the rising need for a common and uniform classification of citizens with disabilities – across fields and sectors. Simultaneous, the ICF will provide the opportunity of identifying and describing the consequences of disabilities. This will contribute to a better use of resources within the Danish society. In the light of this, it is expected that there will be a great amount of activity regarding implementation of the classification within the field of rehabilitation.
Just now, MarselisborgCentret has completed the Danish ICF-directions for the Danish National Board of Health. Previously, MarselisborgCentret was responsible for completing the translation of WHO’s ‘ICF - International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health’ into Danish.
